Somebody

Scripture

But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” Luke 8:46 (NIV)

But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” Exodus 4:13 (NIV)

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14 (NIV)

Somebody has to do it! Why not you? You are somebody, and you can do it! Maybe you think you can’t do it, and you are probably right! Wait, what? You most certainly can’t do it alone. However, through God you can, and if you trust Him in the process you will.

How often do we find ourselves waiting for someone or something to happen when it is in our power to do it? I can certainly say that I’ve had my share of moments when I wanted someone else to take the reins.

The problem with someone else taking the reins on what God ordained you to do is you will miss out on the blessing. I’m reminded of the story of Esther, if you have never read that book it is only 10 chapters and a wonderful example of God being with Esther and how He will be with us. She was afraid to approach the king with her concerns to save her people. She prayed and fasted, and found the strength to step into her destiny. The end result was she was able to save her people. She was able to witness her enemy receive the punishment meant for her people.

In the story of the woman with the issue of blood the Bible doesn’t provide her name, or any details about who she is, her family line, or anything about her character. What we know is she became somebody that was healed. She made her way through a crowd to reach Jesus and touch his garment. Immediately she was healed from a disease causing her to bleed for 12 years. After she touched Jesus, He said, “Someone touched me.” The woman with the issue of blood had to let her faith lead her to be the someone who touched Jesus’s garment, and receive her healing.

Moses, one of the great names of the Bible even asked God to send someone else in Exodus 4:13. God wasn’t having it. God did send someone else, but not how Moses hoped or expected. God sent Aaron along with Moses to help him speak, and lead the people out of Egypt.

Take every opportunity to be somebody that God can use for His great purpose. No matter how you feel about the task it is written in your destiny to do it. You are built for a purpose so go out and live it!
